Electives Teacher

I was born and raised in Schaumburg, Illinois where I grew up until 18 when I left to
attend Clarke College, where, after changing my program several times I received my
Bachelor’s Degree in English and communication with a minor in writing and journalism. Later,
after moving to Phoenix, I bounced around retail management for five years before getting fed
up. After many thoughts and prayers I felt called into education and within a month I was in the
classroom and gym as a teacher and coach at Madison Highland Prep. I’ll be entering my 10th
year teaching, bouncing between English, journalism, publication design (yearbook), world
history, government, econ. This is will be my 6th year at San Tan Charter School where I’ll
continue to teach history, government and econ, along with film studies, and creative writing.
After nearly a decade in the classroom I can honestly say that, aside from being a parent, this is
the most rewarding work I’ve ever done.
