My Bio

Hello! My name is Aleighya Burns and I am overjoyed to be starting my first official year at San Tan. I moved from Indiana, after completing my undergrad in Elementary Education, to Arizona. I took over for a sweet teacher mid-year so that she could attend to her new baby at home. I am extremely grateful to be apart of the San Tan family!

When I am not teaching, I love to read, explore my new city, and hang out with my roommate, who is also my best friend. I also spend a lot of time talking, guiding, and laughing with my 11 siblings.

I am passionate about building lifelong relationships with students and enforcing integrity in my classroom. I strongly believe that a relationship with my students makes the worlds difference. I also believe that all children have the ability to do the right thing. My goal is to ensure that students are not only doing the right thing when they are around an adult or higher authority, but on their own, when no one is watching.

I am so excited for this year and I cannot wait to get to know my incoming students!!
