Timothy Porter

PE Teacher/Head Girls Volleyball Coach

My Bio

After finding his love and passion for the game his senior year of high school, coach Tim continued his career at Santa Monica college making it to the state finals. Following he transferred to antelope valley college where he helped start up a brand new college volleyball program playing outside hitter and assisting in running and coaching the program which lead to a scholarship to go play at Ottawa University in KS.

Tim is currently playing in the Volleyball League of America, along with coaching women’s volleyball at San Tan Charter High School.

Tim has coached both boys and girls volleyball of all ages. From 12U to the collegiate level.

His goal is to pass on his love and passion for the game.

As volleyball becomes life and is a year around commitment, It’s important to understand the things outside of volleyball are much more important. Things like family, friends, personal/mental health. With this sport I want to show them you can have both. Create a family, make new friends, and grow strong physically and mentally. If we can understand these aspects in the gym it becomes easy to balance it all together.

“The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do” -Kobe Bryant.
