Hello Power Campus!
Watch this week for emails from school as we will be sending announcements regarding academic accountability—including student attendance and interventions for students who have fallen behind grade-level standards. We are excited to partner with families and offer resources to meet the challenge of re-returning students to the heavy rigor of preparing kids for college and career success in SY 2021-22. Speaking of academic success, our National Honor Society (NHS) will resume its bi-weekly meetings on Aug. 26. Meetings will occur on alternating Thursdays during your student’s lunches.
What great energy we had at last week’s Green and Gold scrimmages! Our high school volleyball and football teams, cheer squad, and culinary department put together a great event Friday on campus. This week we follow it up with a football scrimmage versus Sabino High School Wednesday at 6:00pm.
Next week we really get rolling with our all-school Fall Picture Day, sports picture day, and our first home football game of the season. The first home game will be a “White Out” with fans in attendance wearing white receiving discounted entry.
Fall Picture Day
Save the date for Tuesday, Aug. 24. School photos take place during the day while sports photos will occur during their practice time.
- Parents can visit www.dorianstudio.com and type in San Tan Charter School – Power Campus to have access to order online. There is no late order charge if families order within 4 days after picture day.
Fall Photos:
- Photo ordering forms will be distributed on Wednesday, August 18th during 3rd period classes (this is the same day the Recker Campus will be distributing order forms to their students)
On picture day, students will be dismissed by grades over the school intercom and report to the Main Gym for photos
- The photographers will be onsite to take photos from 8:30am-1:00pm
Fall Sports Photos:
- Photo order forms will be distributed by coaches on Wednesday, August 18th during sports practices or tryouts
- Photographers will arrive onsite on Tuesday, August 24th at 2:45pm to begin setting up
- Dorian Studios will be emailing me the schedule/locations for team photos and when I receive it I will send a follow-up email with that information along with an email to our coaches

Fall Play: Pride and Prejudice
Auditions for San Tan Charter’s Fall Play, Pride and Prejudice, will be held on campus today, August 17th and 19th from 6:00-8:30pm in Room 607. Students interested in auditioning will need to leave campus after school and then return to the campus for their audition. Technology
San Tan Charter utilizes student laptops at the Power Campus. Each student needs a laptop to access school testing, classroom curriculum and more. Parents have the option of leasing technology from the school or supplying your own technology from a list of approved devices is on the Parent Portal page. Please be reminded there is a $250 annual lease fee for the school’s technology and a $50 annual fee for registering your family’s personal device.

DonorsChoose helps teachers fundraise for special projects in their classrooms. Last week was a big week on campus with Ms. Kovach’s class getting fully funded. Please think about donating to our teacher’s rooms, if you haven’t already.

Athletics News
Sports Registration for the 2021-2022 school year has wrapped up, but if you are still interested in participating in sports, please reach out directly to our athletic director, Shawn Lytle, at slytle@santancs.com.
All students in grades 5th-12th are welcome to register for the Roadrunner Sports Program.
P.E. School Uniforms:
Extra PE uniforms have reached campus. Please make sure your student has received their full order. If you are interested in ordering more, the cost of the uniform set is $18. Remember you have the option to pay online via this link: https://yqysjrrxph.formstack.com/forms/power_p_e_uniforms.
Uniforms can also be purchased through the front office, via exact cash, or with credit cards or checks made payable to STCS.
