 In Branding

Hello Power Campus!

Our Fall MAP scores are in and we are working hard to ensure our students are meeting or exceeding grade-level scores for reading and math. This year San Tan Charter increased its goal from last year—setting the new standard that now 70% of our students will be meeting or exceeding grade-level expectations. For those students who have not yet met that mark this year, we will be sending out invitations for FREE tutoring we will be offering here on campus. With this invitation, we ask that students and families sign up for a minimum of two tutoring sessions per week. During last year’s tutoring campaign, those students who attended tutoring grew on average 3X the rate of students who were not involved in tutoring!

Why the focus on tests and tutoring? In addition to being a school known for its great school culture, championship athletics and gifted programming, electives opportunities and clubs, last year STCS graduated 19 of 59 students who received full academic scholarships for colleges. That is a Roadrunner trend we would like to continue! We believe when you mix hard-working students with hard-working teachers, that recipe for success pays dividends. So please be on the lookout for further communication about our MAP testing and our tutoring opportunities.

STCS Fall Picture Day

Don’t forget that next Tuesday, August 23, is PICTURE DAY on campus! Picture ordering envelopes were sent home with the students. If you missed receiving your ordering envelopes, you can order photos online by clicking here: https://www.dorianstudio.com/pictureday/Y8AQG6JG/

Wednesday HALF DAY schedule

Wednesday, Aug. 31, we will have our first half day on campus. Students will attend an “A” Day schedule (periods 1-4) with an extended “college and career” focus. Grand Canyon University will be on campus speaking to high schoolers and our JH classes will be participating in house competitions. In the afternoon, our teachers will take the second half of the day to plan and prepare for increased student achievement. School ends on half days at 11:24am, so mark it on your calendar for an early pick-up to drive-lane!

Arizona Diamondbacks/STCS National Anthem Night

The D-Backs, in partnership with San Tan Charter School, invite you to bring your family and friends to the game on Monday, September 12th vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. At the game, our very own San Tan Charter students will perform the National Anthem on the field! All students are welcome to participate in the singing of the National Anthem.

Tickets are specifically discounted and a portion of the proceeds from every ticket sold will benefit the San Tan Charter Choir. Tickets can be purchased through Formstack. Purchase Tickets and Sign Up HERE

By filling out the Formstack, I agree that I have read, understand and will adhere to the guidelines and expectations for my student to participate in a performance of the National Anthem on Monday, September 12, 2022. I understand that this is an AT WILL activity and that I will be responsible for my student at all times once they leave the field.

Expectations:

  1. Students must have a ticket to the game in order to participate in the National Anthem.
  2. Parents are responsible for providing transportation to and from the event.
  3. Once the students exit the field, parents are liable for claiming them and supervising them during the game (Details on where to pick up students will be shared at a later date).

Guidelines for Chase Field:

  1. Anyone on field is expected to show proper respect before, during and after the National Anthem performance. It is very important that everyone stands up straight and does not wave at the cameras.
  2. All participants must stay on the warning track and off the grass at all times during the performance.
  3. Outside of the performers, only teachers and chaperones should be on the field. Parents should not go on the field with their children.
  4. Food, drinks, bags and purses will not be allowed onto the field. Performers should leave all bags and purses with their parents/guardians during the performance.
  5. With the large number of performers, students should not be talking during the rehearsal or on the field, prior to the performance.

Student Technology

San Tan Charter utilizes student laptops to access curriculum for the majority classes at the Power Campus. Many families have not yet paid to lease a school device or register their personal device.  This week administration is reconciling all technology and if students are still without devices, will receive a call home for payment for lease or to have their device secured on our Google Enterprise for Education.

Thank you to all our families who have been proactive in paying for the school laptop lease or registration. If you have not yet done so, please make that payment to avoid a call home or to have personal devices held until registration is complete.
