Hello Power Campus!
Here we go—welcome to December and the final push in 2020 to the end of first semester! Just a quick reminder… This week we have our Benchmark MAP testing in math and English/language arts with math testing continuing through this Wednesday and ELA testing happening on Thursday and Friday. Make-up tests for both subjects will continue through next week.
Also, today is “Giving Tuesday” and our charter school welcomes tax credit donations (up to $400 per family) for all of our excelling school programs. Please click on the link above to see how you and your family can contribute to San Tan Charter School this year!
Important Dates
Final assignments for Semester 1 grading are due to teachers by Friday, Dec. 11 and Semester 1 finals will be held on Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, Dec. 15. Reminder that Friday, December 18 is a Half Day “A” Day and it will be on to Winter Break!
Re-enrollment
Be ready, San Tan. We are gearing up for next school year! Check your email next week for the San Tan Charter School re-enrollment application. The school is accepting returning and new student applications to join the Best Small School in the East Valley!
Picture Retakes and Senior Pictures
Mark your calendar for school picture retakes and Senior Pictures on Wednesday, December 9. Seniors, please come dressed in your formal attire for your senior pictures. Contact Ms. Taylor at btaylor@santancs.com for more information.
Check your Students’ Grades
With the end of the semester nearing, we are encouraging all of our families to please use Infinite Campus Parent Portal to help monitor their students’ grades. If you are needing help with accessing the portal, please reach out to our registrar Mrs. Gray at cgray@santancs.com.
Student-Student Tutoring Service
San Tan Charter is offering FREE tutoring by the National Honor Society. These free sessions are held both virtually and in-person by request. If you are interested in setting up a tutoring service, please visit the NHS Tutoring Classroom to locate an available tutor. Students must be logged into their San Tan account to access the Tutoring Classroom.
Health Reminder
Thank you to all the families who have kept student(s) home if they are not feeling well and for continuing to support the mask policy on campus. If you are signed up for On-Campus learning but are choosing to keep your children home for the day, please call-in so that we know your students will be working from home. In addition, parents choosing to move their students online for longer periods of time should contact the school to make arrangements.
Nut Policy Reminder
Please remember we are a strict, nut-free campus here at San Tan Charter School. All of our catered hot lunches and snacks on campus are nut free, so please be careful not to unintentionally pack any of these items for your students or to bring them on campus for snacks.
NO PDA
San Tan Charter School does not allow for any form of public displays of affection, or PDA on campus. This includes hand holding, hugging, kissing or showing physical contact between couples. Consequences for PDA range from conferencing with students to contacting parents to suspension from school.
Dress Code
Just a reminder of the San Tan Charter guidelines for dress and the student handbook policy involving dress code. Please make sure your students have enough coverage to maintain modesty and appropriateness in their daily choices for attire.
