Hello Power Campus!
Let me first send out a message to all the families at San Tan Charter thanking you for sharing your students and participating as a member of the STCS Community. My hope is that our students and staff are able to connect with friends and family this week and that everyone has a restful break before pushing “All-In” on Monday to finish Semester 1 on a strong note.
Personally, I feel a great sense of gratitude for our school. Starting with our amazing staff, let’s thank our people for pouring in the countless hours working to support our intelligent and fun-loving students. To the parents of the students, help me in thanking your kids for all they are giving us each and every day. As our students navigate both In-Person and Home-Based learning, there is no doubt that they will have built up perseverance and resilience in 2020!
Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
Reminder this Wednesday (half day) we are inviting students and families to enjoy lunch, picnic style, on campus starting at 11:24am. Feel free to bring lunch from home or Panera is offering a holiday meal on My Hot Lunchbox. Today is the last day to order online at: https://ordernow.myhotlunchbox.com/login. Your meal(s) if ordered through My Hot Lunchbox, will be available for pick up in the Student Union.
End of Semester Grading Period
*As a retraction from last week’s Tauscher Times, the last day for students to turn in missing assignments for Semester 1 grading is Friday, December 11. The newsletter last week inaccurately reported the last day as Friday, December 18.
We encourage all of our families to please use Infinite Campus Parent Portal to help monitor your students’ grades. If you are needing help with this please reach out to our registrar Mrs. Gray at cgray@santancs.com.
Student-Student Tutoring Service
National Honor Society members are offering FREE tutoring sessions both virtually and in-person by request. If you are interested in setting up a tutoring service, please visit the NHS Tutoring Classroom to locate an available tutor. Students must be logged into their San Tan account to access the Tutoring Classroom.
Health Reminder
Thank you to all the families who have kept student(s) home if they are not feeling well and for continuing to support the mask policy on campus. If you are signed up for On-Campus learning but are choosing to keep your children home for the day, please call-in so that we know your students will be working from home. In addition, parents choosing to move their students online for longer periods of time should contact the school to make arrangements.
Nut Policy Reminder
Please remember we are a strict, nut-free campus here at San Tan Charter School. All of our catered hot lunches and snacks on campus are nut free, so please be careful not to unintentionally pack any of these items for your students or to bring them on campus for snacks.
NO PDA
San Tan Charter School does not allow for any form of public displays of affection, or PDA on campus. This includes hand holding, hugging, kissing or showing physical contact between couples. Consequences for PDA range from conferencing with students to contacting parents to suspension from school.
Dress Code
Just a reminder of the San Tan Charter guidelines for dress and the student handbook policy involving dress code. Please make sure your students have enough coverage to maintain modesty and appropriateness in their daily choices for attire.
