Laramie Letters 8/18

 In Branding

As we near our potential re-opening on Monday, August 31, I will be sending out several communications over the next couple of weeks to ensure that you have the latest information and can feel confident about a safe and successful return to in-person learning. We are eager to see some of our kiddos back on campus and are looking forward to when we can all be back together again!

Q1 Learning Choices due by Thursday, August 20

The most critical piece right now is to finalize your family’s Q1 learning choices. This schedule will be in place from August 31st– October 2nd.

  • Monday/Tuesday on Campus with Wednesday/Thursday/Friday at-home instruction
  • Thursday/Friday on Campus with Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday at-home instruction
  • 5 days a week at-home instruction

Here is the form in order to make your selection. If you have already submitted your choice, thank you!

Please note that at-home instruction will still consist of whole group instruction, small groups, and independent work among other things. As we near our in-person opening date, your child’s teacher will also be sending out a revised daily schedule for his/her class, so please be on the lookout for that.

ADHS Benchmarks

As a reminder from Dr. Sippel’s last email, we continue to adhere to and receive guidance from the Arizona Department of Health Services and our Board of Directors for our phased approach as described above. This date is only an estimate and may be revised by the School at any time based on the AZ Health Services Benchmarks.

The ADHS recommends county-specific health benchmarks fall within the moderate or minimal spread category in ALL THREE benchmarks for two weeks in order to provide hybrid learning. You can read more about the benchmarks here.

As of August 13, the benchmarks for Gilbert 85296 look like this which means we currently fall within the guidelines to offer our hybrid learning approach. I will send another update once we get more recent data:

BenchmarksCurrent Data
Cases per 100k people63.27
Percent Positivity6.34%
COVID-like illness4%

Thank you again for your patience and trust in us as we work through these historic times. Please feel free to contact me should you have additional questions. Tomorrow, I will send out more detailed information on our re-opening plan.
