GILBERT, Arizona— Brandon Tauscher, Principal of San Tan Charter School’s 7-12 Power Campus, is pleased to announce the hiring of Phil Cardis as the school’s new baseball coach. Cardis will lead the baseball programs at San Tan Charter School when the 2023-2024 school year begins in August.

As Tauscher noted, Cardis will bring a wealth of baseball, organizational, and managerial experience to his new role at San Tan Charter School.

“Phil currently coaches and co-owns the AZ Wildfire Baseball Club, which is based in the East Valley,” Tauscher said, adding that the club provides aspiring baseball players in Arizona with exceptional baseball instruction from former professional and collegiate players.

Cardis has also coached baseball at a number of age levels in the Valley for the past 10 years, including an All-Star Team that finished third in the state. In addition to his coaching work,

Cardis is the Managing Partner of a Mesa based law firm that focuses on estate planning, probate, business, real estate and personal injury.

Prior to his work as a coach, Cardis played baseball at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and concluded his collegiate career at Luther College in Iowa.  He also played for Team USA in Baseball in the Junior Pan American Games in Guatemala which consisted of the top players in the country.

“We are thrilled to bring in Coach Cardis to head up our San Tan Charter baseball program,” Tauscher said.

“The experience he brings to our school as a proven program leader, coach, and player, coupled with his alignment to the school’s values, makes him a truly special fit. I am looking forward to watching him build upon the foundation in place and executing his vision for the program and for our student-athletes and families.”

Cardis said he is eager to start his new position at San Tan Charter School this summer. As he noted, he was drawn to San Tan because it is a leading school in the East Valley that offers students and families outstanding educational and extracurricular experiences.

“I’m very excited for the opportunity to lead the San Tan Charter Baseball Program. I’m honored to have the trust of San Tan Charter’s administration and to be named head coach,” Cardis said.

“Our collective goal is to not only develop and help our student athletes excel in our baseball program, but to mentor them in high character and assist them with the necessary tools to succeed in life.”
