Dear San Tan Families,

Happy school year! We had an amazing first event at Recker Movie Night! Here are some pictures from the event, thank you to everyone who came out! It was so fun!

We are having our Open House night on Thursday, July 20th and would greatly appreciate donations for dinner. Our teachers and staff will be here all day and night and love your kindness and amazing dinners! The theme this time around is “Picnic”. Please help us in providing some meals and desserts that may not require the use of an oven and delivered by Thursday, July 20th at 3:00 to the Recker Campus Front Office.

Open House Save the Date 

Save the Date: THURSDAY, July 20th

Location: Recker Campus

3:00 PM Session One

5:00 PM – 6:00 PM ALL STAFF DINNER BREAK; NO SESSIONS

  • Logistics: You can choose any sessions that work best for your family. Head on over to your student’s classroom. This will be casual, and you are welcome to visit any classes at your leisure.
  • School Supplies: Please bring your supplies this evening if you have them. We will have you drop off the items at your student’s teacher’s classroom.
  • Please ensure you have picked up your Car Hang Tags from your OLDEST child’s classroom teacher this evening.

Student Academic Expectations and Accountability

Everything related to school policy can be found in our student handbook. Please take the time to go over the handbook with your students. The handbook also includes our dress code policy.

 

Sports Sign Ups

Sports registration is officially open for the 2023-2024 school year! Reminder that all athletes are required to fill out and complete a sports physical in order to participate in their sport.

Please keep in mind student-athletes will only be able to practice and compete in games once complete registration and payment has been made. Student-athletes cannot participate in practice or games if their sports physical is not completed, so it is imperative to complete the physical exam prior to the team’s first practice!

The STCS Athletic Department will answering questions in the gym at Open House.

Technology

San Tan Charter utilizes student laptops to access curriculum for many of the classes at the Power Campus. Please be reminded there is a $250 annual lease for a school device and a $50 annual fee for registering a personal device.  If families choose to bring their own device, please be sure your Chromebook is compatible with the network by using the Approved Technology List and please be mindful that all student owned Chromebooks will need to be secured on our Google Enterprise for Education.

First Day of School Information 

Drop Off

  • Gates open at 8:05. All students will come directly into the classroom
  • The class will begin promptly at 8:30. If you arrive on campus after 8:30, parents must sign in at the front office and receive a pass to class.
  • You are welcome to walk your students to the classroom in the morning up until July 28th.
  • Following July 28th for the safety of the students, all visitors must sign in at the front office and have an appointment to come up to the classrooms.

Dismissal

Half Day Kinder: 12:00 PM

K – 6 Grades: 3:00-3:30

  • We will be employing the School Safe ID program for after-school pick-up so that we can follow our safeguards and ensure the safety of our staff and students.
  • Please see a follow-up email from me detailing this program.

School Day

  • Specials will begin on Day one – please ensure that students have tennis shoes for PE.
  • Please remember our nut-free policy for lunches. There are no microwaves available for student use in elementary school. Students will need to bring any utensils they may need.
  • Please pack a healthy, quick, non-messy afternoon snack each day. Also, don’t forget water bottles!

Lunch Ordering 

This is our hot meal program when lunches are ready to start ordering. Attached are the instructions to sign up for My Hot Lunch Box.

Guest Teachers

We need guest teachers to fill in when our teaching staff is out ill. If you would like to guest teach for us, please email Ms. Richardson at srichardson@santancs.com to get back on the list for this school year.

 

Family Engagement Committee

At San Tan, we do not have a PTO, we have the Family Engagement Committee! The FEC will be helping with school events, parent groups, fundraising initiatives and organizing parent support within the classroom.
