Tauscher Times 1.13.26

Dear Roadrunner,

We are officially at the 100th day of school!

Congratulations to our Power Campus Spelling Bee champion, 7th grader, Emma Lebedies. This Friday Emma competes in the STCS District Spelling Bee where a district champion from San Tan will be sent on to the next round of state competition.

Student Council and Ms. Jutem organized a fun spirit week last week and the Winter Formal in the gym looked amazing. As always, it was an amazing show of support and volunteer help from our families and students.

Coach Cartagena and men’s soccer is on the rise! This week senior Rafael Ocando has been nominated for the Arizona Republic “Athlete of the Week” for his three goals and two assists in a 5-1 win over Chandler Prep on Jan. 7 and three goals and two assists in an 8-0 win over Tombstone on Jan. 9. Vote here for Rafael to be named AZ Republic Player of the Week.

Also in sports, congratulations to STCS varsity basketball player Kristo Jackson who scored his 1000th point for the Roadrunners in a 25-point win Monday night over San Carlos High School and to junior Payton Lubash, who has been nominated for the Arizona Small Ball Podcast’s Verl Heap award.
