Milagros Huang

Spanish Teacher

Milagros J. Huang, a native Spanish speaker, has extensive experience teaching at the secondary level and across various levels of Spanish as a second language. From 2019 to 2020, she worked as a part-time online instructional specialist at Arizona State University’s School of International Letters and Cultures, mainly analyzing oral assignments and providing phonological and phonetic feedback.

Huang studied Translation and Interpreting at Universidad Ricardo Palma in Peru, with a focus on English and German. She earned a second bachelor’s in Languages and Cultures, specializing in Spanish, from SUNY Empire State College in 2008. In 2011, she began a master’s in Second Language Acquisition with a focus on Spanish at Kansas State University, graduating in 2015.

While living in South Korea (2014–2016), she volunteered as an interpreter and translator for the Peruvian Embassy. From 2016 to 2019, she worked part-time as a Spanish teacher in Arizona, increasing student enrollment and winning awards in Spanish-language contests in 2022 and 2023.

In 2018, Huang obtained her second master’s in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University and her teaching certification.

Between 2023 and 2025, she taught Spanish remotely at the middle and high school levels, working with students with social anxiety, autism, and individualized education plans, while maintaining in-person connections at events such as the Language Fair. Ms. Huang currently teaches Spanish at the high school level at San Tan Charter School in Gilbert, Arizona.

Huang was a doctoral student in General Psychology before shifting to a doctoral program in Education, focusing on Teaching and Learning and adult education. She is interested in teaching Spanish culture through engaging activities to enhance language acquisition.

Huang’s activities in her free time include spending time with family, traveling, and singing (in Italian, German, and Portuguese).
