Hi my name is Katelyn Cabrera and this will be my second year as the music teacher here at San Tan Charter! I have been studying and practicing music/music pedagogy for 14 years, and just graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelors in Music and Arts. I started as a violinist in my elementary and junior high years but switched over to playing cello instead. I started my music journey in Flagstaff in Northern Arizona University where I was performing a lot. I unfortunately had a back injury which led me to change my musical path to be more theory and composition based. I wrote music for different companies and I transferred to ASU. I currently play in the ASU Philharmonia and work with different conductors to always improve my own musical knowledge. I look forward to starting everyone’s new musical journey this coming school year.
