Greetings! I am Adorne Rixford, and I am so excited to be teaching here at San Tan Charter. I recently moved to Arizona, but grew up outside of Atlanta, Georgia. I went to Georgia Gwinnett College to receive my degree in Early Childhood Education. I was a 3rd grade teacher for 7 years, then became the Advanced Content Math teacher for 3rd-5th grade, as well as overseeing our gifted program and facilitating a 1st-2nd grade Critical Thinking Skills/Problem Solving class. I am married and have 2 dogs and 2 cats. When I am not home, I am most likely traveling on an adventure, camping, hiking, or kayaking. I am a lover of our National Parks and State Parks, and love supporting them. Teaching has been a very special place in my heart, and I am so excited to be supporting your child and helping to guide their growth!

My Why: I knew I wanted to become a teacher when I was in 3rd grade. I had a very special 3rd grade teacher, and a special 5th grade teacher that supported me in my weaknesses in math. I was always a hard-working student and excelled in reading and writing. Math was something that I never felt successful at, and it wasn’t until high school and even college, that a few amazing teachers truly supported me and made me feel comfortable to really dive into growing my math skills. There is one teacher in particular that I am still in touch with today and being able to tell her how much she helped me and flourished my choice of becoming an educator is truly amazing to me. I chose to teach because I love building relationships and helping a child grow into who they want to become. I have supported many different types of learners in my 12 years of education, and I look forward to supporting even more in the future!
