Hello Power Campus!

Welcome to the week before the week before the first day of school!

As San Tan Charter prepares for professional development training for teachers, now is a great time to also start preparing students for a successful start to the 2020-21 school year! As we prepare for both virtual and/or in-person learning for this coming school year, flexibility and resilience are two important concepts I believe prepares us for success in the future—no matter the endeavors and challenges we are facing. I have no doubt that the San Tan community will persevere through these times to create something remarkable and memorable this school year.

Start of School

The official start date of school remains July 30 with home-based instruction for all students. To help the school best prepare for returning to instruction after this initial home-based period, we ask that you please select your experience for On-Campus, Home-Based, or Hybrid learning.

As a precursor to receiving San Tan’s home-based and hybrid guide to the start of school, let me first share that all home-based students will be learning synchronously (together) with their San Tan Charter School teachers and attend classes virtually each class period following their regular daily schedule. This adaptation to our home-based learning from last school year not only gets our students back on track with in-school routines but it helps to develop a seamless transition between home-based or in-person learning throughout the school year.

Technology

On Friday, July 10, and again this morning an email was sent home to high school families only discussing 1:1 technology. Please check that email for specific information and to schedule a time to pick-up and register technology for the 2020-21 school year.

Junior High families will receive a separate email for your students who may be in need of technology. Please stay tuned for that email.

Athletics

Our Athletics Department remains in communication with the AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Association) and CAA (Canyon Athletic Association) regarding its return to play. Presently, both leagues have a start date for Fall practices (5th-12th Grades) starting on Monday, August 17th.

As a reminder, this year we will be moving our athletics registration online with Register My Athlete! Please be on the lookout for a separate email from Ms. Tatum regarding the use of this new registration system.
