Hello, Recker Campus!
As we near the approach to the beginning of school, I am filled with hope for our brand-new school year. Attached is our plan for our Home-Based and Hybrid plans.
Start of School
The official start date of school remains July 30 with home-based instruction for all students. To help the school best prepare for returning to the instruction after this initial home-based period, we ask that you please select your experience for the On-Campus, Home-Based, or Hybrid learning.
This adaptation to our home-based learning from last school year not only gets our students back on track with in-school routines but also helps develop a seamless transition between home-based or in-person learning throughout the school year.
While the organization previously sent out a survey regarding your preference for On Campus, Home Based or Hybrid learning, we will again ask for your input on your choice when we receive approval to return to school in person from the Governor’s Office. That will allow us to know your most up to date decision.
5-6th Grade Specials
With COVID and the need to keep children as contained within their cohorts to provide as minimal cross-contamination as possible, we have elected to have fifth and 6th grade attend specials rather than elective.
If you are in need of a device for remote learning, please fill out the survey at this link. Each family may check out one device for every two students in the household. Once you complete the survey, our support team will contact you directly to schedule a time to pick up your device.
Our Athletics Department remains in communication with the AIA (Arizona Interscholastic Association) and CAA (Canyon Athletic Association) regarding its return to play. Presently, both leagues have a start date for Fall practices (5th-12th Grades) starting on Monday, August 17.
As a reminder, this year, we will be moving our athletics registration online with Register My Athlete! Please be on the lookout for a separate email from Ms. Tatum regarding the use of this new registration system.
Below is a link to download the 2020-21 school supplies list for your students, for your reference. I have included potential “future” expenses in the email to represent timing for field trips. Please keep in mind that that field trips will be canceled for the first quarter (mid-October).
Teacher Assignments/Open House
Teacher assignments will be available through Email on Wednesday, July 22, by 5:00 pm. Information regarding Meet the Teacher will be shared out by the end of the week. Thank you for your patience as we work to open schools virtually. If you have any questions, please call or email me.
