Linda Olson

Gifted 3rd Grade Teacher

My Bio

Hi there!  My name is Linda Olson, and I am delighted to be joining the San Tan family.  You can find me with the 3rd graders in room 212!

I am a seasoned teacher with almost 18 years of experience.  I have a B.S. in business administration, and a teaching credential from ASU.  I also have masters level experience focusing on language and literacy, as well as understanding and teaching gifted students.  Prior to coming to San Tan Charter School, I taught 3rd through 5th grade students in the Chandler Unified School District.  During my last 4 years, I taught a 3rd grade “gifted cluster” class, and I am excited to have the opportunity to teach the 3rd grade gifted class at San Tan this year.

In my off hours, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for 40 years and we have 3 grown daughters and 2 sons-in-law.  We also have lots of family in the valley.  Kevin and I enjoy cooking together and we have family and friends over often!  We love to travel.  Some of our favorite places to go in the states are California, Hawaii, and New York.  We have traveled to Europe several times as well.

My hobbies are reading, knitting, and puzzling.   Reading is a wonderful escape for me.  I love reading positive stories with happy endings.  (Yes, I’m a romantic.)  I’m a novice at knitting, but I am working on improving my skills.  I’ve gotten pretty good at making baby blankets, even though I don’t have grandkids.  I’m an avid puzzler!  My favorite types of puzzles are sudokus and jigsaws.

Now that you know a bit about me, come by and introduce yourself.  I’m looking forward to getting to know the San Tan family!
