Kristi Kisler

Specials Teacher (STREAMS)

My Bio

Hi, my name is Kristi Kisler and this will be my 5th year here at San Tan Charter School. For the 2018-2019 school year, I will be developing our new STREAMS (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, Math, & Social Studies) elective and specials program. I am excited to start this new adventure and look forward to all the amazing things our K-7 students will be creating. As a graduate of Northern Arizona University, I hold an associate’s degree in Liberal Arts, a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and a master’s degree in Elementary Education and Reading. I received my gifted training from the University of Southern California and have my K-12 gifted certification, along with my certifications to teach middle school language arts, history, and K-12 reading.

Over the last four years here at San Tan Charter School I have participated as a contributing member of our iLead Team, Love & Logic Team, coordinated our annual Spelling Bee, sponsored after-school clubs like the Photography Club, Cooks in the Kitchen, Spelling Bee Club, and the Yo Yo Club; and am a leading contributor and moderator of our STCS SmugMug Memories Website. I also designed and oversee our highly popular STCS Summer School Program.

I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and graduated from Coronado High School. After high school, I pursued a career in banking, where I received my training in project and production management. In 1989, I retired from First Interstate Bank and started my own consulting business, KBK Enterprises, in San Diego, California. For five years, I worked as a technical writer and project management consultant for a variety of companies. After the death of my husband in 1993, I decided to return to my first passion, education. In order to stay home and raise our son, I started an in-home daycare business, specializing in special needs children. After moving back to Arizona in 2001, I went back to school to finish my liberal arts degree and pursue my bachelors and masters degrees in education.

In addition to my passion for education, I recently started my own Events & Stock Photography business, Kisler Creations; and I am involved in many San Tan Charter School Events as a professional photographer. I enjoy going to the theater, reading, and watching a wide variety of movies. I also love art, genealogy, and scrapbooking. Some of my favorite books include poetry by Robert Burns, The Lost Choice, by Andy Andrews, and most classical literature.

With fourteen years of teaching experience under my belt, I continue to enjoy working in the field of education. I love working with all of our great families here at San Tan and look forward to meeting and working with your children in the new STREAMS Teacher capacity this next school year.
