My Bio

Hello Families, In my second year at San Tan Charter School, I am excited to be able to teach the wonderful students we have here about life in the foodservice and hospitality industries.  I grew up in Payson, Arizona where my passion for food began. With 15 years of experience in professional kitchens and foodservice operations, I was the National High School Chef of the Year through Johnson & Wales University in 2006. During high school I competed in multiple culinary competitions including earning a silver medal in the hot food category through an American Culinary Federation culinary salon. Later in the same year I was named the US Foodservice Junior Culinarian of the Year in Arizona. After culinary school I earned a garde manger position at Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort. Over the next 3 years at the resort I worked every position there ending my time there as a junior sous chef. From there I honed my passion in Italian cuisine under Chef Gerardo Moceri in Sedona, Arizona. When I’m not in the kitchen I love camping, fishing, off roading, watching baseball or spending time with my family and dogs.
