4th Grade Teacher

My Bio

I was born and raised in California, and later moved to the mid-west where I was a preschool teacher while earning my secondary teaching degree from North Dakota State University. The year following my graduation I substituted in Kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms and then taught History and Government for seven years. Having specialized in differentiated teaching strategies and small group implementation, I served on a committee that identified students that were not successful in traditional classrooms for a variety of reasons. We came up with plans to differentiate their educational experience both inside and outside of the classroom. I would then help individual teachers implement these in their classrooms.

We moved to Arizona fourteen years ago and became a part of the San Tan Family as parents in 2010 with two of our six children. I had the privilege of staying home with my children here in Arizona until 2011 when our youngest began preschool at San Tan to join his older brother and sister. I had been volunteering and substituting in various classrooms and then applied for the fourth-grade teaching position. It has been a privilege to be a part of these wonderful families here at San Tan as they make their way on their educational journey. These children and families have touched my heart in a way that will always be a part of me.
