My Bio

Hello! My name is Adam Winters. I am in my ninth year of teaching music students, and I’m very excited for my fourth year at San Tan! I look forward to continue to be a part of the roadrunner family!  I grew up in a military family, and was born across the International Date Line in Agana, Guam.  My dad’s career in the Air Force had my family move between Arizona and Colorado throughout my childhood.  As a child, I took piano lessons, and always knew I wanted to be a professional musician. I started accompanying choirs, and figured out I wanted to be a music conductor. I am grateful that I fulfill that dream every day. I attended college at Northern Arizona University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education with an emphasis in choral music.  During my time at NAU, I met my wife. Christina and I were married December 20, 2009.  We now live in Mesa with our two dogs, Bailey and Oscar.

Some of my favorite activities are playing hand bells, watching baseball, basketball, and football games, and playing video games. I also like coaching baseball and basketball, and was a part of both championship seasons as an assistant coach to Coach Jay, and the 2017 championship team with Coach English. I was also head coach of the Junior High Team 2 team that have won their conference championship in back-to-back seasons. Baseball season is my favorite time of year, and even though my favorite teams are the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks, I can watch any team play. I also played baseball through my senior year in high school as a pitcher, outfielder, and first baseman. Some of my favorite players are Derek Jeter, Mark Grace, Todd Helton, and Paul Goldschmidt. I also love football and basketball season, and my favorite teams are the Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Suns, and San Antonio Spurs. My wife and I both love Disney and we enjoy traveling to Disneyland whenever we have the chance, and my favorite Disney character is Goofy.
